IIMA Ventures is the brand name used by the IIM Ahmedabad Advancement Trust – which is an umbrella holding body for below-mentioned entities and aimed at fostering innovation driven entrepreneurship in the country. IIM Ahmedabad is the sole beneficiary of the IIM Ahmedabad Advancement Trust. The Trustee of the IIM Ahmedabad Advancement Trust is IDBI Trusteeship Services Limited – which is supported by an Advisory Board comprising of distinguished IIMA alumni.
IIMA Ventures and the underlying entities have its roots at IIM Ahmedabad and its Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship – an academic centre focused on research in innovation and entrepreneurship. IIMA Ventures also engages closely with IIM Ahmedabad on providing research and training opportunities to students and faculty.
The three operating entities under the IIM Ahmedabad Advancement Trust and part of the IIMA Ventures include:
This website provides a consolidated view of all activities carried out within the IIMA Ventures. This website uses terminology that may be interpreted to suggest that all entities in IIMA Ventures are actually a single entity. However, there is no such single entity as CIIE or IIMA Ventures and all of the entities have their own separate legal existence – even though they may be using the common IIMA Ventures brand.
Further, although certain individuals are identified on this website as “Partners” or “Co-founders” these titles reflect business usage to reflect their contribution and association that is customary within our industry and are not intended to indicate that any such individual is actually a partner or shareholder in any partnership as those terms are used for legal purposes. The Leadership Team of IIMA Ventures refers to a group of senior individuals from across IIMA Ventures, who act as the group office and create uniform and coherent strategy, policies, processes and vision-alignment, etc. across the group.
