IIMAvericks is the entrepreneurship launchpad of IIM Ahmedabad, offered by IIMA Ventures. Since 2013, the programme has supported 87 Mavericks fellows over thirteen years, meeting student founders at each stage of their journey.
The programme brings together flagship offerings, aligned coursework, alongside a year-round calendar of events that builds entrepreneurial energy across campus.

The IIMAvericks Fellowship supports graduating IIMA students who wish to pursue entrepreneurship full-time after their programme. Fellows receive financial support, mentorship and incubation, a placement holiday, and access to cloud credits and service-partner offers.
Open to PGP, PGP-FABM & PGPX
An opportunity for first-year students to spend the summer validating an idea and researching the viability of their product, working towards an MVP with mentor support and stipend.

A business case competition where students pitch their ideas across batches and programmes. Features prize money, CV points, and an early platform to test ideas across IIMA.

Three electives run alongside the programme, giving students a structured route from a question to a validated idea, and for many, into the EIR grant.
An independent research project run over a full term under a faculty guide. Students define their problem statement, map the landscape and work through to a validated idea.
Taught on campus by IIMA alumni working in venture capital. The course gives students a first-hand view of how investors evaluate startups, size markets and make calls.
A two-day intensive immersion led by faculty and IIMA Ventures, with consumer startup founders invited in to go deep on building and scaling consumer brands.
The EIR grant is offered to current cohort students, generally after they have been through one of the electives above. It backs founders to build an MVP or take an idea into further research and validation once it shows early promise.
