Supporting innovations that help mitigate and build resilience against climate change
Climate change continues to be one of the most urgent global challenges, disrupting lives, livelihoods, and ecosystems. Addressing this crisis requires accelerating the transition to Net Zero by empowering solutions that help vulnerable communities and industries adapt to the changing environment. Through the Bharat Climate-tech Initiative, we aim to drive measurable impact by supporting startups that are building real-world solutions in Climate-tech and Sustainability. Our target outcomes include reducing a million kg of CO₂ emissions and saving 10 million litres of water. A joint effort by IIMA Ventures and MUFG, the initiative will support up to eight promising early-stage entrepreneurs, offering catalytic capital and tailored business support to help them scale from innovation to impact. The thematic areas we’re seeking tech solutions in are listed below.
You can find more details on each of these in our report Innovation for Impact, a comprehensive landscape study of India’s Climate-tech ecosystem.
Over two years, the program will provide financial and other support to up-to eight startups that are building solutions that help mitigate and build resilience against Climate change related risks.
